The Varilite Icon Medium Back System has been created with the user, caregiver, technician and clinician in mind. Aiming to provide the best solution for those looking for fast installation, simple operation and versatility, this Varilite Back Support is attached to the user’s wheelchair with the VariLock hardware. A lightweight solution to those requiring support to just below the scapula, this Back Support is fully adjustable and will not impede arm movement during propelling or other movement. The Support shell provides mild lateral support and secondary support can be attached if extra support is required. Maximum user comfort is ensured with the enhanced rollover cushion.
The Varilite Icon Medium Back is very easy to use. The caps simply need to be opened and the Support will slide out of the wheelchair with the use of one hand. The Support sits in Varilite Icon Hardware that is installed onto the wheelchair. The hardware installs quickly and easily with only two parts requiring attachment, using only one tool. If required the angle, width, depth and height of the hardware can be adjusted using the easily accessible screws – adjustments can be made whilst the user is in the chair, enabling you to reach optimum comfort.
The Varilite Medium Back Support comes with a rollover cushion that is secured to the inside of the cover and will reduce contact with the edge of the shell whilst moving. The Varilite air-foam floatation cushion is sculpted foam that fits the contours of the shell with no bunching. The foam is thickest along the vertebral column; with firm foam support the trunk sides and softer foam protecting more sensitive spinal areas. The cushion is adjustable using the two way air valve to ensure the perfect fit for the user.
