Learn About The NDIS Portal

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) connects disabled persons with community providers, sporting clubs, support groups, and education facilities.

The NDIS portal, commonly referred to as the MyPlace portal, is a government-operated platform that provides participants secure access to manage NDIS plans, schedule service appointments, complete payments, and more. Participants can also opt to extend access to their personal portal to a trusted peer, a “nominee,” or a child representative.

Recent Updates

Recent updates to the NDIS portal have enabled additional capabilities for participants, such as making adjustments to booking details (e.g., price, duration) and searching for local providers. Participants can filter their provider search based on location and availability. A detailed report, encompassing all of the recent NDIS portal updates can be accessed by downloading the MyPlace portal updates guide.

Advantages of the NDIS Participant Portal

The NDIS participant portal was developed to benefit participants by providing a network of service providers, useful resources, and a simple platform for carrying out relative tasks. The NDIS participant portal offers the following functionalities:

  • Search for accredited providers based upon location and additional filters
  • View current and archived plan details
  • Share plan details with your service providers
  • View and share provider referrals
  • Schedule, manage or cancel service bookings
  • Manage your account information (e.g., contact information)
  • Upload essential documentation (e.g., assessments, service agreements)
  • Create, view, and process secure payments
  • Contact providers or NDIS directly using the instant messaging tool

Accessing the NDIS Portal

Participants can access the NDIS portal by registering through myGov, a one-stop digital platform that provides access to all available government services. For additional guidance, review the step-by-step guide on how to create your myGov account.

If you are currently enrolled in another government program (e.g., Medicare, Centrelink, Australian Taxation Office), then you may have already created a myGov account. Visit my.gov.au, for more information regarding which services can be accessed through your myGov account.

Preferred Browsers for Improved Functionality

For a better user experience and increased compatibility, NDIS recommends using one of the following web browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari.

Activating Your Account

Your NDIS portal login will utilize the same credentials, meaning the same username and password, as your myGov account. Upon accessing your NDIS portal for the first time, you will receive an activation code. This activation code can be used to enter your portal from either the NDIS website or myGov.

NDIS recommends inputting your activation code as soon as you receive it since the code will expire after ten days of inactivity. If your activation code has expired, contact the National Disability Insurance Agency at 1800 800 110 to request a new code.
